Should include a post office at a military base if does NOT have its own ZIP code(I have a point that was collected by the OSMCP)? |
Please see a previous question: "Community Post Offices and Contract Postal Units." The USGS collects all Post Offices run by the USPS. If the Post Office in question is a "regular" Post Office listed on the USPS Locator site, then keep it. If the Post Office is a Contract Postal Unit or Community Post office that does NOT have a unique zip code, then delete it. Most importantly because odd situations come up now and then, please feel free to email us at nationalmapcorps@usgs.gov. Be sure to either include the node number of the point or enough information about the location that we are able to find it. |
It the points collected by OSMCP it means that this point already exists on the database. Yes you can collect Post Offices that are located in military bases. Do yo know if the official USPS website has any info about such offices? |
