I should have asked this question long ago. In West Virginia addresses on authoritative websites use the local and state route numbers. For example an address might be 123 County Highway 90/2. TNMP tutorials indicate slashes (forwards and backwards) should not be used. Presumably slashes can cause havoc with computers, programming, databases, etc. So, the question, should we be using the slashes for WV route numbers as addresses when the authoritative websites use it, or should we doing something else in place of the slashes, or not using a slash at all? |

According to our name and address formatting guidelines, forward slashes are permitted on a limited basis as long as you include a space on either side of slash, e.g., 123 County Highway 90 / 2. Forward slashes (or hyphens) are acceptable if the following two criteria are met:
