Welcome to the TNMCorps Q&A community!

Hi, I found the possible location of Holder Cemetery, Madison County, Alabama, online but it's in Township, Range, Section and some weird locale info. Township, Range and Section I could figure out with various help websites but the locale is difficult to figure out. The locale is given in numbers and not quadrant directions. Township 3 South Range 2 West Section 26 Locale 450 - 1 - SW Currently the lat and long plot on the parking lot of a shopping center, and hopefully the old locality info won't plot in the same place. Thanks

While it's possible that there is more than one Holder Cemetery in this general area, the point in the editor appears to be incorrectly located.

I couldn't find additional authoritative evidence confirming the existence of a Holder Cemetery in Madison County, but I was able to confirm the existence of a Holder Cemetery in Jackson County. The clue that led me to the Jackson County Holder Cemetery was the name Kenneth Edward Holder, listed in the Madison.pdf containing the PLSS location. His full name, birth, and death dates, as listed in that document, match exactly with the full name, birth, and death dates listed in the Find A Grave posting associated with the Jackson County cemetery.

We recommend deleting the Madison County cemetery point, and creating a new Holder Cemetery point in Jackson County at the location indicated in this Find A Grave posting. Before deleting the point, make sure to add a comment noting that you confirmed the deletion with the USGS.
