Welcome to the TNMCorps Q&A community!

I started editing, approving, and/or adding icons for the Texas Rangers locations. I am now having second thoughts on this after reading the job descriptions and responsibilities for the rangers. https://www.dps.texas.gov/TexasRangers/rangerresponsibilities.htm The Rangers like other state level investigative agencies seem to be primarily investigative officers and not uniformed officers with patrol duties like found at a police department or a sheriff's office.

Many other states have similar agencies such as the Georgia Bureau of Investigation or the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division. Should state level structures for investigative agencies such as the Texas Rangers be included on the National Map?

Thanks. Kent.

Texas has a unique law enforcement structure, so the Texas Rangers can't really be compared to other agencies. Because of this we do accept Texas Ranger locations, and you are correct to collect them.

We currently do not collect other state based investigative agencies (e.g. the GA Bureau of Investigation).
