Welcome to the TNMCorps Q&A community!

I am finding stacked icons. Under the new editor when I move one to try to unstack and see what else is there the first icon I moved snaps back to its original place making it difficult or impossible to sort out the issue. Any suggestions?

You'll need to save the icon in order for it to stay where you move it. If you continue to have issues, please email nationalmapcorps@usgs.gov with the location of the stacked icons.

To prevent a point from going into locked mode (syncing to the database), you can enter symbols that the system doesn't like. For example, if you want to move a point to see what other points might be under it, enter something into the name, like %^^%& and hit save. Introducing these "mistakes" allows you to save a point and then edit it again immediately. This is also a helpful strategy for moving points long distances.

If the system does not detect any errors, it will go into sync mode, and you won't be able to edit the point for up to 5 minutes.
