Welcome to the TNMCorps Q&A community!

There's a local school that is currently not being used. It was a k-8. I called the district and was told that they aren't sure what they will be doing with it. The lady I spoke with said she does not believe it will be torn down and they will most likely be using it in the future, only they have not decided what to do with it. Should I just leave the point there? verify its location? get rid of it? put some notes on it?

I think it would be fine to delete the point. If they turn it back into a school someday, then it can be added back in. Good job calling the school district for conformation. It is always a good idea to call or email when you are unsure. If you want someone from The National Map Corps team to make the call email nationalmapcorps@usgs.gov.
