Welcome to the TNMCorps Q&A community!

For a school that has pre-kindergarten - 12th grade all in the same building, if only one icon is used for the school, there is no pk-12 attribute, and you can only select one atribute - elementary, middle, highs school, or other. Do I select other? Can additional attributes be added to the list? Does it matter?

The correct choice, if the school is just one school, is "other". In some cases there are completely separate schools under one structure. In those cases, you would create the appropriate point for each school.

There is not an option to create a new attribute.

As always, be sure to check the school district webpage for the most current (authoritative) information. Another authoritative source is http://nces.ed.gov/globallocator/.

With our new editor, you now have the option to label a 'General School.' This designation is a catch-all for schools (PreK-8, 5-12, etc.) that don't fall within the typical elementary/middle/high school categories. Check out our Structures List (https://navigator.er.usgs.gov/help/WebHelp/structure_def_table.pdf) for more information regarding the types of schools we now collect.
