Welcome to the TNMCorps Q&A community!

I have run across a stack of cemetery icons in SD. I can verify and correctly locate some of the cemeteries, but not all of them. What do I do with the cemeteries I can't locate? They are obviously in the wrong location.

Although time consuming, the volunteer should try to relocate the point manually. As they carry, like Erin said below, official codes we should aim to keep these points in system.

Actually, if you find a stack of cemetery points you should try to relocate them. This is time consuming, but because these points have unique ids and are a part of the Geographic Names Information System, we need to maintain and correct the existing points if at all possible.

Frequently if you find a stack of cemetery points, it means they will be in the center of the county and all of the cemeteries exist within that county but exact coordinates were unknown. You can then research each point within the bounds of the county. If you can find no evidence that the cemetery exists, then they may be deleted.

This is a better approach.
